Qualifications for Existing Staff and Contractors

If you have been working in the flooring industry for some time, but have not gained a National qualification in flooring, by undertaking a Recognition of Current Competency (RCC) this enables you to have your existing skills, knowledge and experience recognised. It allows for people to have their workplace performance assessed against national standards and gain qualifications to give recognition for their knowledge and skills obtained through non-formal training in the workplace.

You can opt to be assessed against as many of the five different strands of the National Certificate in Flooring as you like. The five strands are:

  • Fine sanding and Finishes
  • Resilient flooring installation
  • Carpet installation
  • Substrate preparation
  • Wood overlay installation
