National Certificate in Flooring

Apprentices are enrolled in the National Certificate in Flooring (Level 4), which is recognised by employers both in New Zealand and overseas.  The National Certificate in Flooring is a competency based qualification made up of unit standards recognised by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority http://nzqa.govt.nz/ The National Certificate in Flooring is made up of six strands.
  • Fine Sand and Finishes
  • Resilient Installation (vinyl and linoleum)
  • Carpet Installation
  • Substrate Preparation
  • Wood Overlay Installation (parquet and plank)
  • Flooring Planning and Design
Each strand is a qualification in its own right. Most of your training is received in the workplace, however attendance at block courses will be required.
