 The New Zealand Flooring Industry Training Organisation provides quality training in the form of Contemporary and Modern Apprenticeships, which result in nationally and internationally recognised qualifications. Along with an increased focus on industry training by Government, industry demand for skilled staff is very high.
Flooring apprentices can be employed as either Contemporary or Modern Apprentices. In both instances the curriculum for training is the same. The main advantage with the Modern Apprenticeship strategy is that each Modern Apprentice has a Co-ordinator who acts as a mentor throughout the apprenticeship training period. For young people aged 16 to 22 years, the Flooring ITO offers training under the Modern Apprenticeships strategy. Any individual that does not come under this category, the Flooring ITO offers training as a Contemporary Apprentice.
